FAQ’s
What are the dimensions?
XL5: 13′ L × 4’11” W × 23″ H, weighing 325 lbs
XL6: 13′ L × 6′ W × 23″ H, weighing 375 lbs
Will these ports damage my jet ski?
No—Connect-A-Port is safe for most jet skis. However, we do not recommend using them with models featuring a Nano Xcel hull. This type of hull is known to be extremely thin and prone to cracking, even under normal use such as beaching or porting.
Are there options for jet skis with a Nano Xcel hull?
Yes! We offer specialty rollers designed specifically for Nano Xcel hulls. These rollers distribute weight more evenly to reduce pressure points, minimizing the risk of damage.
Is there only one attachment point to install the port on my dock?
Not at all. Each port includes multiple attachment points—on both sides and the front—giving you flexible installation options depending on your dock configuration. You have the option of mounting the side or front to the dock.
Will Connect-A-Port fit in my boat slip?
Yes! You can fit two XL5s side by side in a standard 10-foot boat slip, making it a smart way to maximize space. They are slightly smaller than 5′ wide to reduce friction when docked in a boat slip.
Does the sun heat up the product or affect its durability?
Connect-A-Port may warm slightly in direct sunlight. Lighter colors also absorb less heat. All Connect-A-Dock products are UV-resistant and built to withstand long-term sun exposure without sacrificing durability.
Hollow vs Foam Filled Ports
Foam Filled:
- Typically, foam filled ports have a thinner wall thickness.
- Foam coverage in the cavities are sparce, which means if the port is compromised, they will still fill with water and list to one side or the other.
- Once the warranty voids, and if the thin walls fail, the port will never be able to be repaired.
- They will sink slower, but they will eventually be entirely compromised.
- Foam filled is a selling tactic. You are paying for foam, which is unnecessary and non-functional.
Hollow Ports:
- Connect-A-Port has 3/8th wall thickness, which is more than any competitor.
- Connect-A-Dock is owned by Meyers Industries–A leader in plastic manufacturing in the USA.
- We trust our plastic strength, so we we don’t need to rely on foam as an extra safeguard.
- If the plastic is ever compromised, we can take the port off the water, drain it, and patch it and it’s good as new.
- Hollow ports will outlast foam filled for greater longevity of your investment.
